About Chris Martha

Chris Martha has over 25 years of running experience. He has competed in countless running events from 5k to Marathons, including the historic 100th anniversary Boston Marathon in 1996. Chris has also participated in several other endurance events including the Wildflower Triathlon (Long Course) and the Providian Relay (199 miles from Napa Valley to Santa Cruz) in which his team placed 7th overall.

But don't worry, you don't have to be an experienced runner to benefit from this class. ChiRunning applies to everyone from beginners, with no running experience, to Ultra Marathoners and everyone in between.

Chris has been trained by Danny Dreyer (founder of ChiRunning®) and awarded the title Certified ChiRunning® Instructor. He has taught the ChiRunning® techniques to corporate groups, as well as clients in private and group lessons.

Chris is featured in the ChiRunning® Instructional DVD, which can be purchased at the ChiRunning website.

Chris was also an assistant coach to Danny for the first ChiRunning® Marathon Training Program, which culminated at the San Francisco Marathon on August 1, 2004. Our students had a fantastic time with many wonderful success stories. Chris himself finished in the top 5% of all runners.

For Chris running was freedom, bliss, and an expression of joy. However, when countless injuries sidelined him, he felt it was inevitable that his running career was over. Then he was introduced to ChiRunning® and he realized that he could continue to run indefinitely and without fear of pain or injury. The joy of running is back. Since then it’s become his mission to create a fun class that meets every person at their level so that no matter what a person’s age, fitness level or experience, anyone can experience the pure joy of running!
